In comic book history there is possibly no character that is quite as popular, or significant, as Batman. From comic book nerds, to those who know nothing about the comic universe, everybody recognizes the Caped Crusader. Batman is popular enough that in 2019 it was announced that he would be the first ever comic book character to receive his own star on the Hollywood Walk of fame.

Of course, being so immersed in pop culture since the 40’s, the Batman universe has its fair share of religious imagery and themes. From the idea of Bruce Wayne being the sole saviour of Gotham City to the very bat symbol that can be seen in the sky, the story of Batman has many mirrors to Christian mythology.
